Lancashire based Interior Architects Bibi Interiors contacted EME Furniture to supply items from the Trudy range for their project at Roe Lee Park Primary School in Blackburn. The project involved the refurbishment of 10 classrooms to create state of the art, cutting edge learning environments to excite and stimulate the children while maximising the use of space.
The Trudy range was chosen for to its bright colour scheme and the flexibility of the storage range which met the criteria to make the most of the space. In a break from the normal colour co-ordinated classroom, three complementary colours were selected to create a visually stimulating classroom.
The Trudy tray units and art and craft trolleys fit neatly under the fixed benching around the classroom perimeter from where they can be easily pulled out when required. Each classroom has a reading corner where the seating has integrated tray storage to make best use of the space. Colourbox storage walls have been used to enclose the reading areas and provide both practical storage and display.

“EME are an excellent partner to work with. When designing a school with specific products and colour schemes it’s important to maximise space and work to a colour pallet, the breadth of products EME offers allowed us to source most of what we needed minimising the logistics of installation teams and making co-ordination easier. EME were a tremendous help and were effortless to work with. Roe Lee school was a very challenging project, a 1929 building which required converting to a modern teaching and learning environment. We had just 5 weeks to work our magic and install the new scheme. The building had its own issues due to its age, which were thankfully resolved in time. We had time against us, however having worked with EME before we knew that we had an established and trusted partners for a successful delivery.”
